How it works

There are two ways to find a tutor: browse profiles and contact a tutor directly, or post one tutoring job and let tutors apply to you. Both are free.

For students and parents

  1. Create a free account and verify your email. Verification unlocks posting, applying and messaging.
  2. Browse or post. Search tutor profiles by subject and country, or post a job describing the subject, level, mode (online or in person) and budget range.
  3. Compare applicants. Tutors apply with a message and a proposed rate. Compare their profiles, qualifications and any real reviews from completed jobs.
  4. Message in the platform. Ask questions and agree details before you commit. Keep early conversations on the platform so we can help if something goes wrong.
  5. Book a trial and start. Where a tutor offers it, request a trial lesson, agree a time, and then arrange ongoing lessons directly with your tutor.
  6. Leave a review. After a job is completed with the tutor you selected, you can leave a review that helps the next student choose.

For tutors

  1. Create a free tutor account and verify your email.
  2. Build your profile. Add your headline, biography, subjects, levels, languages, rate and location from your dashboard.
  3. Wait for review. Profiles are reviewed before they become public — this protects students and keeps the marketplace trustworthy. See Safety & verification.
  4. Browse jobs and apply. Your first application is free; after that, each application costs a few Credits based on the student's country (shown on the job before you apply). Write a specific message and propose your rate. Once you apply, the student's contact number appears so you can follow up on WhatsApp.
  5. Teach and earn reviews. Agree times with the student, teach, and build a record of real reviews from completed work.

Is it free to find a tutor?

Yes. Students and parents pay nothing to join, post a job, contact tutors, message or request a trial. Tutors also join and get approved free; a tutor's first application is free, and later applications spend Credits based on the student's country — see Pricing.

How are tutors checked?

Every tutor profile is reviewed by an administrator before it becomes public, and tutors can additionally submit identity and qualification documents for a verified badge. Reviews on a profile come only from students who completed a job with that tutor on this platform.

When do I get the tutor's phone number?

Phone numbers are never public. A student's number is shown only to tutors who apply to that student's job, and a tutor's number is shown only to a student whose job they applied to — so both sides can follow up directly, for example on WhatsApp.

What the platform does — and does not do

TutMeet provides profiles, job posts, applications, in-platform messaging and trial booking requests. Lessons are delivered by the tutor, and payment for lessons is arranged between student and tutor — the platform does not take lesson payments at launch, which is also why our refund policy is short. Messages update automatically while a conversation page is open; there is no separate mobile app at launch.
