Joining, your profile, verification and approval are free, and your first application is free too — after that, each application costs a few Credits so applications stay serious and students' contact details stay protected. The exact cost of a job is shown before you apply, and the full table lives in your Credit Wallet. TutMeet takes no commission on your lessons — see the pricing page.
You set your own hourly rate on your profile. Lesson fees are agreed and paid directly between you and the student — the platform does not handle lesson payments.
How joining works
1. Create your free tutor account
Sign up and choose “Tutor” on the registration form. It takes a minute and costs nothing — there is no joining fee and no subscription.
2. Verify your email
Open the verification link we email you. Applying, messaging and booking stay locked until your email is verified — this keeps fake accounts out of students' inboxes.
3. Build your public profile
Add your headline, biography, subjects and levels, languages, hourly rate and time zone in your dashboard profile. Students compare profiles side by side, so a complete, specific profile matters more than a long one.
4. Add qualifications
List your degrees, certificates and teaching experience. You can attach evidence documents — they are stored privately and are only ever seen by you and an administrator.
5. Get verified
Submit an ID or qualification check from the verification page. When an administrator approves a check, your profile shows a Verified badge — the badge only ever comes from a checked document, never from paying.
6. Get approved, then apply
An administrator reviews every new profile before it goes public — you will get a confirmation when you submit it and a notification when it is decided. Once approved, browse the student job feed and apply: your first application is completely free, and after that each application costs a few Credits (the amount depends on the student's country and is shown on every job before you apply).
What makes a profile get chosen
- A specific headline: subject + level + outcome beats “experienced tutor”.
- Completed verification — verified profiles carry the badge students filter for.
- Published availability hours, kept honest and current.
- Real reviews from completed jobs and bookings. Reviews can only be written by students with a completed engagement — they cannot be bought or added by hand.
