Community guidelines
These guidelines apply to every student, parent, tutor and administrator on the platform. They exist so lessons can be arranged with honesty and respect.
Be honest
- Profiles, qualifications, experience, rates and availability must be truthful.
- Job posts must describe a genuine tutoring need.
- Reviews must come from a real completed engagement and reflect your actual experience.
- Never impersonate another person, tutor or organisation.
Communicate respectfully
- No harassment, hate speech, threats or abusive language — in profiles, jobs, applications, messages or reviews.
- No stalking or persistent unwanted contact: if someone does not reply, or asks you to stop, stop. One polite follow-up is fine; repeated messages are harassment.
- No discrimination: do not refuse, target or mistreat anyone because of their religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or any other personal characteristic.
- Keep messages relevant to arranging tutoring. No spam, mass solicitation or unrelated advertising.
- Respect agreed times: give as much notice as you can if you must cancel or reschedule.
Use contact details properly
- A phone or WhatsApp number revealed through an application is shared only to arrange the lessons for that specific job. Using it for anything else — marketing, resale, sharing with others, off-topic messages — is a serious breach: immediate suspension, forfeiture of remaining Credits, and possible reporting to authorities where the law requires.
- Never ask for personal information the lesson does not need (home address beyond an agreed lesson location, identity documents, financial details).
- Do not put your own phone number or email in public text (job posts, profiles, reviews) — public text is visible to everyone; use the private fields the platform provides.
Keep arrangements on the platform where you can
- Messages and records on the platform are what protect everyone if something goes wrong. Agree fees, schedules and changes in platform messages where possible, even if you also speak by phone.
- Do not pressure the other side to move off-platform in order to dodge the rules — for example to avoid the application system, reviews, or the contact-detail rules. Using your revealed number to arrange the agreed lessons is fine; using it to cut the platform out of a brand-new arrangement while hiding it from the record is not.
- Never share your account login, and never make payments to anyone claiming to be the platform through unofficial channels.
Protect children
- Only adults hold accounts. Accounts for students under 18 are held and managed by a parent or guardian, who handles all communication with tutors.
- Tutors communicate with the account holder, not directly with a child off-platform.
- Never request or share a child's personal contact details, photos or location beyond what a lesson genuinely requires and a parent has agreed to.
- Hold first lessons online, or in a public place, with a parent or guardian present or nearby. In-person lessons at a home should only happen once both sides are comfortable, with another adult aware.
No fraud or unsafe behaviour
- No scams, fake payment requests, or asking anyone for passwords, card details or one-time codes.
- No sharing of another person's private documents or contact details.
- Do not try to bypass profile review, application limits or other platform safeguards.
How enforcement works
Anyone can report a concern. An administrator reviews the report and may warn the user, hide or remove content, reject or suspend a profile, or close an account for serious or repeated breaches. Decisions about safety are final, but if you believe a mistake was made, contact us with the details and we will re-check.
